Arnau Folch (BSC) joins the experts panel in a GeoDebat (GeoDebate) titled "Conviure amb un volcà: gestió i risc geològic a la Palma" (Living with a volcano: management and geological risk in La Palma) on 5 April 2022.

About the event:
How is an active volcanic zone monitored? Can an eruption be predicted? How has emergency management developed in the field? What tools do geologists use on the ground? How do you approach the communication of such a fascinating natural phenomenon and when it comes to catastrophic consequences for a significant part of the population? These and other issues will be the theme of the first session of the GeoDebates of the Faculty of Earth Sciences. The event, organised by the Faculty of Earth Sciences of the University of Barcelona, aims to vindicate the diversity and value of knowledge in Geology as a fundamental baggage to address the many social, environmental and economic challenges of the 21st century.
